For any waterhead that loves beautiful weather and exotic locations, having fun on the Gulf of Mexico can be an ideal vacation. Because of the expanse of the Gulf of Mexico, there are so many unique locations to visit, you will absolutely never get bored. In fact, many waterheads would consider the Gulf of Mexico to be a dream vacation in itself. The gulf attracts a large amount of people during the winter because of its warm tropical weather, so regardless of when you decide to visit, you will discover that there is always a warm beach waiting to greet you.

Those who are looking to escape the coldness of winter and replace it with the warmth and beauty of the Gulf of Mexico have several options to consider. Some of the most popular options are Veracruz, South Padre Island, and Treasure Island. Though it may initially be hard to believe, all of these locations are in various places of the US instead of being found at just one specific place. South Padre Island is located in Texas and is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico and the Laguna Madre Bay. It is a great place to visit if you are looking for many water sports and activities, such as kiteboarding, parasailing, snorkeling, windsurfing, and even scuba diving. There are many outside beach bards that you can enjoy throughout the day and night.  You can also take a day trip to the Gulf of Mexico directly by traveling 30 miles away.

Veracruz is another popular destination and can be found in Mexico. It features a 31 mile beach and boardwalk that you are not soon to forget after visiting. If you are interested in taking a trip to somewhere that offers history on almost every counter, you will appreciate visiting the town of Veracruz. Here you can also see the Citlatapetl volcano and overlook Pico de Orizaba.  There are cobblestone streets filled with unique architecture from many different periods of time. Most waterheads will want to devote a few days to walking the beautiful beach and enjoying the entertainment found at the boardwalk.

Perhaps the best beach experience can be found while visiting Treasure Island in Florida. This area found in the Tampa Bay region features a beach that extends for 3 miles wide. It can be ideal for waterheads wanting to find some true peace and relaxation while in the area. There are activities available such as deep-sea fishing, dolphin tours, beach trails, or simply sunning on the beach in your spare time. Waterhead families with kids will appreciate that they are only a short distance away from the Adventure Island Water Park and many of the other popular theme parks available in the area. Orlando's many theme parks are only 90 minutes away if you are willing to drive. At the end of the day, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset that is considered to be one of the best sights in the world.

Another factor to consider for any waterhead planning on visiting the Gulf of Mexico is the many cruises that are available within the area. If you want to get on the water instead of in the water, this can be a great option. Cruises combine all of the beauty and excitement of being on the seas and near water with the relaxation of a unique vacation. These cruises offer the best in seafood and other local exotic meals. Some cruises also feature a resort deck buffet which can be a wonderful experience for those who want to dine outside during their time on the boat. One element that must never be forgotten while you are sailing is to take the time to go out to the deck and appreciate the view around you. Realizing the vastness of the ocean around you and smelling the air on the Gulf of Mexico is one of the most unforgettable experiences that you can imagine while taking a cruise. It should be another goal on the list of any waterhead. The great thing about a cruise is that it is suitable for almost anyone, whether you plan on going alone, taking a friend, or going as a family.

There are many other activities that you can participate in while visiting the Gulf of Mexico as well. Perhaps you will want to spend some time fishing in the area. There are many resorts that have fishing charters set up for visitors to the region. Generally it is better to select one of these fishing packages because it ensures that you are only fishing in a legal and approved area, and that you can keep your catch every time. You might also want to check out some of the other options available such as shelling, visiting the harbor, checking out the many beaches and pools, or participating in every waterhead's favorite activity: watersports! Some people even use their time at the gulf to plan memorable events, such as weddings or parties. Almost anything is possible during your trip.

If you tire of some of the traditional excitement while at the gulf, you may want to consider parasailing. Those who are looking for an unforgettable experience will greatly enjoy parasailing over the Gulf of Mexico. Gliding well over 1,000 feet into the air, you will have the experience of seeing almost the entire gulf and appreciating the true beauty of the waters below you. The process is fairly simple. There will be a boat that takes you out onto the water where the crew will set you up for your parasailing adventure. You will wait on the back of the boat and then start gliding away. When you have adjusted to being up in the sky for a little while, you can truly start looking around and appreciating the beauty of the location that you are in. For some people, landing can be the most fun. The crews will give you an option of whether you want to have a dry landing or a wet landing. For most waterheads who make the trip to the Gulf of Mexico, a wet landing is absolutely necessary.

Regardless of what you choose to do during your trip, you will soon discover that having fun on the Gulf of Mexico is one of the best experiences that you have ever had. If you want to take a trip that you will be remembering for years to come, the Gulf of Mexico is an area that you must not miss out on. With the large variety of options that are available, there is something suitable to be found here for every waterhead.
