Competitive fishing offers many financial rewards, so people that are in many competitions usually spend a lot of money on their boats and fishing equipment. They want to improve their chances of winning by having the best equipment that is out in the market. They want to catch big prize fish like sharks and marlin.
Enjoy fishing, but stay safe. Always wear some kind of life preserver and have a first aid kit on your boat. If you are going to be out in the ocean, then have a GPS. Whether you are fishing for food or sport, make sure that you are having fun!

• Area should be carefully checked out before wading in to reel in the fish. Even while wading in, it should be done carefully and slowly.
• First aid kit should also be brought with adequate medications like pain reliever, bandages and anti-septic among other things.
• The hooks used to angle the fish are very sharp, so after catching the fish one should never try to hold the fish where it’s hooked. Also it should be made sure there is no one behind while casting the line.
• Sunglasses, sunscreen and preferably a hat should be worn while fishing so as to better spot the fish and also to protect the skin and eyes from the sun.
• It is critical that a GPS navigation system be installed in your fishing boat as it helps to navigate the water safely, and it can help others to find the location of your boat in case you get lost.
