There is nothing like coming home with the catch of the day and then boasting about it to friends over dinner. When the dawn of the fishing season begins, many hopefuls get out there with their Fishing Baits and Scents all set to make the most of it.

When you are putting your baits together, there are a couple of things that you have to keep in mind. To start with, you will have to make a mental note of the kind of water that you will be fishing in. freshwater and saltwater require different kinds of baits. There are bass fishing lures, worms and several other types of live small baits, all specific to the kind of water in which you fish.

Fishing Baits and Scents are unique in themselves and you need to spend some time trying to figure out the right ones to use. There are live and artificial ones from which to choose. The idea is to use the right kind of bait for what you plan to catch. For example, if you are going carp fishing, boilies made from fishmeal are a good idea. In addition, what you have to keep in mind all the while is that some areas have a restriction on the kind of bait that can be used in the water.

The environment is also quite important when it comes to your choice of baits. If you are angling in streams, rivers, or even freshwater bodies, then you can choose from a range of worms, leeches, crayfish and the like. There are also minnows and crickets for you to consider using. If you are headed to saltwater environs, then you can consider using sea worms, some cut baits and even squids and eels.

If you want your baits to work well, then you will also have to work out the right timing for the fish. Some of them prefer to come out in the bright sunlight; others find it better to come out in evenings or late afternoons. Once you have everything set up with your bait, then you have to know how to disguise it as well. Find the right fishing spot and put in the bait in as natural a manner as you can. Placing the worms or the bait on the hook in large quantities will also attract the fish.

Fishing Baits and Scents are an integral part of the fishing experience. They go hand in hand. Among the many tools that anglers use however, it is often seen that scents are a forgotten means. There are a number of scents that you can choose from. Some interesting names are Berkley’s Gulp as well as Yum scents. Fishing scents essentially cover up the scent of humans and act as a lure to bringing out the fish. There are so many scents that cover us, such as the deodorant we use, the gas from our cars or the boat and even the food we had on our lunch break.

Most fishing scents you choose should ideally be made of organic materials. These will actually act as a way to attract fish. These scents also act as lubricants when it comes to plastic baits and lures. They are also quite useful when you are casting weeds. When you use a scent for luring bass, they will hang on much longer thanks to the scent.

You can apply scents by spraying them onto the bait or dipping them in the liquid form or just squeezing out some gel on your hands and rubbing it all over the bait.
